Santa Barbara or San Diego For studying English ? |
Travel Info i'll study in a school called EF , thay have schools in the both citys , So what do you suggest , where to study and how much does it cost monthly as a pocket mouny in each eara Travel Tips If the EF school in San Diego is at Alliant International, like I think it is you might be better off in Santa Barbara, especially if you don't have a car. Its way out of the normal part of town, in a good and beautiful suburban location, but awkward to get anywhere else. Santa Barbara is a beautiful place, anyone would like it there. (I live in San Diego, and its a great town, but its very hard to get around without a car and can be a lot more confusing than Santa Barbara). There is no wrong choice here, but please look at a scale map of the exact locations of the schools and compare to the beaches, downtown, or other places you might want to go. Source(s): 45 year San Diego resident, frequent visitor to Santa Barbara. Other Travel Tips they have a good review @ cometosandiego.com http://www.cometosandiego.com The cost of living is about the same in both. Expensive is a good word. Since you are going to school I will asume you live in the dorms and have a meal plan. I think San Diego is the better city.I went to schoo there and really liked it. There is so much cheap stuff to do, and great places to hang out. For a college student there is all diffrent types of things to do at night. Of course they also have some of the best beaches around! The weather is great, and people there are really nice. You will never get bored in SD. Here are some sites with things in the area might help you: www.sandiego.org www.infosandiego.com www.sdcvb.org www.sandiego.gov I found that with some creative ideas I could make my pocket change go far here. Now if you have to pay for housing ect might thing twice about it. SD younger city, more to do, college kids dream. I hope this helps you good luck! San Diego is better because it's bigger and there's more to do. I think that SD is also a little less expensive than SB, but not by much. It's hard to tell you how much pocket money you'll need. If you don't leave the house, of course you'll need much less. It just depends on what you spend your money on and what your needs are and whether you have to pay for housing. For a small apartment you can figure around $1,000 a month on average(dependingon location and size could be a little more/less) if you are renting it by yourself, an average meal at a mid-range restaurant will run you about 12.00-15.00 or so depending on whether you're having cocktails, and grocercies will probably run you about 60 bucks a week if you eat mostly at home. A Gallon of gas (4-litres approx) will run you about $3.50 and the average price of a pair of jeans I'd say is anywhere from $30-$60 bucks and up depending on store/brand/sale. Admission to Sea World is about $50 bucks. A good pair of running shoes starts at about $70.00. A music CD is about 15-20 bucks. These are sort of the average prices. You can get cheaper stuff, and you can get more expensive stuff. It just depends on what you can afford and what your standards are. I agree with Erik K above. A car makes all the difference. Without a car, Santa Barbara is a lot easier to hang out in because it's city center and beaches (and things to do) are close-in to each other. |
