Good school district near San Diego military base? |
Travel Info I will be moving with my Navy Husband to San Diego in September. I currently teach in Indiana and am looking to apply for elementary positions in San Diego near the naval base. What are the good school districts around that area? How difficult is it to get a job in those districts? THANKS! Travel Tips Basically the biggest district is the San Diego Unified School District. This will cover probably 60% of the county population wise. There are a lot of other school districts around the city. They all indirectly fall under the San Diego County Board of Education. Obviously your chances would be improved for jobs if you apply and get hired before the start of the school year, and the sooner the better. For most schools in San Diego that anywhere from the week before Labor Day to the Monday After Labor Day. There are not a whole lot of year round schools in this area. Most in the San Diego Unified district however. If you get accepted in the district, you aren't going to have ultimate say where you end up, and the schools do vary a lot. |
