Travel Info How long would the drive be from Los Angeles to San Diego on the 4th of July.? Travel Tips from personal experience, you could get from LA to San Diego in an hour and a half on a great, traffic-free day. on average, it takes about 2 hours or so but i'd suggest using the toll road (about $3-$5 i think?) if you want to avoid traffic, especially on a day like the fourth of july!! Others its about 2 to 2 and a half hours from LA to San Diego at the border line. Downtown to Downtown - less than two hours depending on the time of day. Traffic is the deal breaker. Could take four hours if you hit prime traffic time, or there is an accident. Also, you could come via five or six routes depending on where you are in LA and where you are going in SD. These are giant counties. About 2 hours - but depending on your actually departing location and destination, it could vary. 2 hours with no major traffic. 3 hours or more if you hit traffic Best travel times to make this trip on that day 5:00 am-7:30 am 9:30 am 2:00 pm 7:00pm-12:00 am Well it takes around two and a half hours, no traffic. But thats the problem, traffic, especially on a holiday. I'd give myself at least an hour if two more to get there on that day. Too long! Consider using Amtrak, it is way less stressful, reasonably priced and a fun trip too! |
