I sent my kids, they liked it.
I went to a similar day surf camp when I was a tween, and it was a ton of fun. My friend's daughter went to the YMCA surf camp last summer, and she absolutely loved it - the instructors were great, she learned a lot and made some nice friends. The only downside was that she begged for a surfboard and wetsuit nonstop until her parents gave in at Christmas. :)

Definitely would recommend the camp!
