Travel Info How do you get from downtown San Diego to the mission beach by public transport? Travel Tips You can either take the #30 bus from along Broadway and that will take you down Grand Ave and into Pacific Beach before it head to La Jolla. That would be the fastest but it doesn't take you deep in Mission Beach like by the roller coast. The #8 or #9 bus from Old Town will take you through Mission Beach. The #8/9 starts at Old Town so you would first have to take the Trolley from downtown to Old Town or you can take a bus too but Trolley is probably a little faster. You probably want to take the #8 since that will take you directly into MB. The #9 goes by Sea World and through PB before in goes through MB. The 8 and 9 are the same loop routes but run in opposite directions. www.sdcommute.com is the site that will give you directions, schedules, routes, ect.. Others Just the trolley to Old Town and catch the 8/9 like "S" said. I think they run up to 11, you do want to check sdcommute.com for the times. This same question was asked a few days back.
