what areas of san diego near downtown are the fun places to live?

im a college student and im planning on moving there with my family (mom/little brother) ..we're all pretty social and want a fun place to live ...i already have lived in orange county for 16 years, and san diego just looks like a better time...orange county kinda gets old and its not like a real city..

what area/s in san diego?

downtown is a nice place to live, but be careful o f the areas right around there like Barrio Logan/Logan Heights and Chollas View. Those are most definitely not nice places to live in!
