What's up with the weather in San Diego? |
Travel Info I moved here less then a year ago because I hear the weather is amazing. Where's this amazing weather? It's 65 and overcast every day... Is it like this every year? I'm looking at the weather for the next week and it's going to be the same... Travel Tips May and June are our worst weather months. May Gray and June Gloom are well-known weather phenomena here. The desert has warmed up, creating a low pressure. The ocean hasn't warmed up yet, so there's a marine cloud layer. The combination means that the marine layer extends over the land. When the ocean water temp hits 65 or so it goes away. Meanwhile, if you want sun, drive inland a few miles. Others I was stationed in San Diego a few years ago..I loved it there. If it wasnt for the military it would be the best place in the world. You should go down to TJ sometime and drink at one of the outdoor cafe's. I have lived in San Diego my entire life. The weather is not like this everyday, you should actually enjoy days like this because when Summer hits... it's going to be a SCORCHER! pretty much what "virtualguy92107" said is correct. May and June are we get the "May Gray and June Gloom" weather pattern. It's like this every year for a few weeks and it's the worst time for weather for the year in SD. But just wait till late June and July and you won't be complaining, summers here are amazing. But at least this is the worst it gets all year, overcast and cool. |
