San Diego or Boston? |
Travel Info Thinking of moving to a "real" city. Have two options- San Diego and Boston. Which of these two has a real city life? Which is a better city to live in? Thanks! Travel Tips If you like snow. cold weather and rain choose Boston. If you like warm days, cool nights and nice beaches, Choose San Diego. Source(s): Just for your info I would chose San Diego. To me it has the best weather and the best place to live in Calif. Other Travel Tips This isn't even a real question...San Diego. If you want to know why you need to message me... Boston would be more of a "real" city than San Diego b/c it's much older and much more dense. San Diego is a great city though with so much to do and you can't beat the scenery and weather BUT if what you want is a real urban experiance then Boston would be better for that. It's one of america's oldest and densest cities. It has the oldest subway system in the US and is fairly public transit friendly. San Diego is a big city and there are neighborhoods that are dense and urban, but Boston would have more of that urban, city life than SD. Boston is more like San Francisco than San Diego in terms of land use patterns and development. Most people would probably pick SD over Boston b/c of the weather and lifestyle. And I've met a lot of people from the Boston area that have relocated to SD. But if you don't care about weather and can deal with the cold and snow and want an urban, true city life experiance then Boston would be a better choise for that. I live in San Diego. This is not a true city and is in fact a smellish downtown surrouded by areas and other small cities. Boston is much closer to being a city with mass transit, access to comunities and urban living lifestyle. Weather and laid back people with great wilderness to explore - San Diego....hands down winner in a romp. San Diego has better weather, nicer people, and a far better lifestyle. I have never been to Boston, but San Diego is a terrific choice. It would be a good idea to spend some time in both cities before making a decision. The weather in San Diego is mild. It's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than many places. It's a clean city with lots of things to do. The sunsets are spectacular. There's 70 miles of beaches. In addition you have all the cultural opportunities you would expect in a large city: museums, music, theaters, etc. The only negative about San Diego is that housing is very expensive. |
