How does a romantic gondola ride sound? Other ideas: kayaking through the La Jolla caves, driving to the top of Mt. Soledad to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and Pacific Ocean. There's so many choices. Visit this site for more ideas and info: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com...

Depends on where you are from and what would be new to you. We have casinos. Also the Harbour Cruise is a must do. Stay away from Mexico. Seaport Village is a shopping facility, not really a mall, different types of artsy and different shops. Old Town is always good. Lots of good resturants and little shops again. Both Seaport Village and Old Town are walking things. Balboa Park is where the Zoo is. There is always something going on there on Sundays. There are lots of museums there but I personally think they are overpriced. You should plan on going to the Hotel Del in Coronado. You can look at it on line, there is quite a history to it and also, again, little shops. Kind of fun to walk around, grab a drink or ice cream and go to the beach from there. Again, the resturants in the Del and the shops also are pretty high priced. Fun to look at. Thats all I can think of right now. If I come up with anything else I'll get back to ya. Hope you have a good time while here.
I disagree with Chloe which answered above me about staying away from Mexico. I recommend Rosarito which is only 30-45 min away from Downtown San Diego. Don't pay attention to all those people that talk bad about Mexico. Yes there is certain areas that are bad but it's just like anywhere else. If you don't look for trouble you wont get in any trouble. Rosarito has a very nice beach and is full of tourists. You can either drive down there or catch a bus at the border for a tour. You can try searching under www.rosarito.com and you will find everything you will need to know. There is also Ensenada, Blowhole, Puerto nuevo and Fox studios which are all near by.
