How many days can a boat or trailer be parked on a San Diego city street? |
Travel Info I can't seem to find the rules on this so I was wondering how long it is legal to park a boat and a toy hauler on the street in the city of San Diego (near Mission Bay/Old Town in particular). It is not in an area with a HOA so whatever the city rules are is what goes. Travel Tips 72 hours. This assumes current licence on the trailer and no outstanding tickets. After the 3 days, the vehicle must be driven at least 1/10th of a mile to be reparked. So pushing it a few yards would not suffice, you would have to hook it up and tow it. Of course all other signs must be obeyed (street sweeping days, etc.). Watch out for the temporary tree trimming signs, they rarely give a full 3 day posting for those. Don't stay in one block too long, lots of people get ticked off and might vandalize the rig, if they thought you would not come by for a while, or if your moves get too predictable or if you have out of state plates. There is a lot of abuse of the system that bothers the locals. Others Contact the local police department, which will usually deal with abandoned vehicles. standard parking rule for cars - 72 hours, then you have to move it. not sure about boats or trailers. |
