Whats Fun and unique to do in San deigo? |
Travel Info We are taking another family vacation to San deigo this year. Last year we went to Sea world, Mexico, and the beach. This year I was wondering if their are anything unique things to do. I am sure there is its California! What I mean by unique is nothing so commercialized. Like maybe is there any tours that take you on the boat and out the the ocean to look at dolphins and whales or anything like that? I know about Disney land and places like that. Thanks Travel Tips Balboa Park for sure! The park is amazing, a ton of museums and resturants and things to see! (Get there early to see it all) Kids acutally like the museums and the giant waterfall. It's never too crowded, there's not really lines for anything....the zoo is right next door! Oh yes! and there's a giant carosel outside the entrance! Also (sd guys dont forget this) Old Town SanDiego (different from the gaslamp district) has ghost tours (including the famous whaley house) where you ride a bus all around town and you see some of the historic SanDiego. Source(s): I live here! Balboa is my favorite place to go. Other Travel Tips They have a district downtown called the lamppost (I think) district. It is the historic area with tons of restruants, etc. A good thing to check out. We went to the zoo when we were there and it was fun. Balboa park. We also visited a boardwalk in Newport Beach. Gaslamp district is cool to check out. Mission Beach. I personally love the Zoo. You can go Kayaking, they are really cheap to rent. Have fun! sister in law lives there, Ive lived in Cali my whole life The Gaslamp is fun for shopping/meals. Balboa Park has about a dozen different museums within walking distance, right next to the San Diego Zoo. Basically, whatever you are interested in, they have a museum for. Super unique but expensive is the nightime Kodak tour at the Wild Animal park in the back of an open safari truck. http://www.sandiegozoo.org/calendar/wap_... One of the most unique things I have done in SD! Ride in a gondola through the Coronado Cays. http://www.gondolacompany.com/ The parks in Coronado are beautiful. Hotel Del is stunning.
