Travel Tips
My favorite areas in San Diego are Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla, Coranado, Mission Valley, and Downtown. Also the small suburbs like Del Mar and Encinitas along the coast are great, charming seaside towns to visit.

Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are great places for young people that like to party and hang out at the beach. Lots of nightlife, bars, resturants, and great beach scene. It's the typical SoCal beach community. To really get the feel of these places it's best to rent or buy a beach cruiser and just ride around and go along the boardwalk.

La Jolla and Coranado are great upscale communties to go to and hang out during the day. Lots of nice and upscale restaurants and shops. Downtown La Jolla is really nice and scenic.

Mission Valley is where there is a lot of places to do shopping as there are two large regional malls, Fashion Valley Mall and Mission Valley Center, there in addition to many other smaller shopping centers.

Downtown is great for nightlife, shopping at Horton Plaza, lots of great restaurants, and for catching a ball game. Nightlife can get pretty crazy down there and there are some great clubs/bars.

Not sure what you mean by "collest", but if you mean coolest the possibilities are endless...

It depends on what part of town you're going to be in and what kinds of things you are into...

Bottom line... it's all here!!

Welcome!!
San Diego sucks, unless you like to:

- Watch the drug dealers conduct "business" in front of the seawall at Ocean Beach.

- Hang out with all the homeless in Downtown San Diego (they're on every street corner)

- Go fishing at the end of the Crystal Pier and catch radioactive tuna

- Drive on any one of the city streets and have the the alignment go out in your tires from all the potholes and ruts (thanks to the greedy pension scandal, which as led to the $2 billion deficit in the city budget and numerous cuts on the part of essential municipal services)

- Count the number of Mercedes in the parking garage at the Fashion Valley Mall

-Pick up a "San Diego Reader" and suddenly realize that over half of the publication is devoted to plastic surgery advertisements

- Bum a cigarette off a frat brother in front of Moondoggies in Pacific Beach

- Listen to a San Diego "native" blame all of the city's problems on the damn "newcomers" from New York, Chicago, and LA.
You should check out the shops in hillcrest. They have everything in walking distance. They have a couple of retro stores, a 50's inspired diner, record shops that sell vinyl records, cds, dvds, clothing/ shoes stores and a bunch of other stuff. Then catch a bus ride down to downtown, shop around there and walk through and down to sea port village. They have tons of unique shops there. Ob also has a bunch of cool little shops with interesting sutff you shouldn't miss.
Live here, love it.
