San Diego, CA.?

Travel Info
I'm going to visit my cousin in San Diego, CA soon. What fun things are there to do there? How far away is Laguna Beach and Los Angeles from San Diego? just wondering...

Travel Tips
What do you like to do? Beaches? Coronado Beach was recently rated one of the top ten in the country. Bar scene? Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is a hoot. Gay scene? Hillcrest area. Museums? Balboa Park is a gem. Shopping? Horton Plaza, Seaport Village, Fashion Valley...lots of malls around here. Theme Parks or Attractions? Sea World, World-Famous Zoo, The Wild Animal Park, LegoLand, or old-fashioned Belmont Park. Sports-minded? Try your hand at surfing in Pacific Beach or La Jolla, hiking in Cuaymaca mountains, or rent a beach cruiser bike and ride along the boardwalks at Mission Beach/Pacific Beach. Food? Mexican food is everywhere, or you could risk your life and stomach in nearby Tijuana. Try Italian food in downtown's Little Italy. Fish is real popular in SD, and didn't fish tacos make their US debut here too? If you hoping to visit Laguna Beach, you will need a car, unless you manage to sign up for a bus trip that is headed for the Laguna Arts/Sawdust Festival this summer, which attracts Southern Californians from all around. Laguna Beach is very gay-friendly. For even more adventure, try hot-air ballooning in Del Mar, or riding the red trolley through downtown or to the border of Mexico. Los Angeles by train is possible, but you'd need to figure out the LA bus and/or metro system to get to some of their better tourist spots from the train station. By car on a weekday rush hour, that trip to LA from San Diego could easily take 4 miserable bumper-to-bumper hours...try to go anyday other than M-F and real early or real late in the day to keep your stress level low.
Others
Lots to Do There, Downtown, Zoo, World Fair site, Sea-world and Mission Beach, La Jolla. etc.
Laguna is a hour and a Half away if no traffic.
LA 4-6 hours depending.
Trains run well if going to LA
Tijuana is close and you still can walk or drive across without a passport.

These are some good answers.

Also, read the rest of the questions in the San Diego column... this question is asked quite often and you'll get more answers.
driving time to Laguna is about 2 hours depending on traffic and time and day of the week... Los Angeles... at least 3 hours and depending on WHERE in Los Angeles you are going... it is a big place and the traffic is the worst!
