How amazing is Coronado, CA? |
Travel Info The whole downtown area and the beach are amazing. What is a must do in Coronado/San Diego? Travel Tips go to hotel del coronado, the largest and most elegant wooden hotel west of the mississippi. has many souvenir shops in its 'basement' and it also houses one of the best ice cream parlors i can think of. i think it's called moo time! the silver strand, south of hotel del, is a nice beach resort that many locals camp at in their rv's. coronado beach is nice at night for bon fires on the other end of coronado, the east end, you can view the skyline of downtown and there are many great souvenir shops and a pier that you can walk/fish on. you can also take a ferry ride from there. most of the island consigns s military jurisdiction, but the island/peninsula is still a natural wonder that is a must visit. access it from the 2 mile long regionally famous coronado bridge that spands over the san diego bay. Source(s): born and raised in san diego. i live 15 miles from coronado Other Travel Tips It's not .... well it certainly doesn't compare to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Piskah National Forest. I have to agree. Coronado is nice, but there's nothing particularly special about it. The only "must do" is enjoy the beach. I just got back from spending six days at the Loews Coronado Beach Resort. Coronado was so amazing in fact that we got a Realtor the last day who showed us all of the homes for sale because we were determined to move there. The realtor said that he would never live anywhere else in Cali. If you have the time, you have to have Sunday Brunch at the Hotel Del Coronado. It is a bit pricey but the selection and environment are simply terrific. Also, take a walk down Orange St. and visit all of the shops. The restaurants along Orange are also fantastic. The best part about Coronado: it is only minutes from downtown but is like a little sanctuary away from all of the craziness. I am sure that you will greatly enjoy your stay! Happy Travels! Personal Experience Beyond my dreams, until I spent the night at the Hotel Del Coronado...felt like a movie star....your wish is their command...if only we afford to live there....it's my favorite place in san diego....the weather and views are magnificent!...peaceful...anot... beautiful spot is Point Loma - you can see Coronado from there and the view goes on and on... |
