Looking for suggestions on building a practice? |
Travel Info I have recently returned to San Diego. I want to start a small practice doing structural integration therapy. It's a cross between massage and passive joint movement. I've been doing it for 26 years. I want to have the practice in my home in the La Jolla/UTC/Clairmont area. I want to avoid all craigslist creeps. Any suggestions on how to go about getting the word out in the community. I am certified and licensed. http://www.farenhiteglassworks.com/fireb... This gives a better understanding of my work. Thanks for answering. Travel Tips Its all down to the perceived image the public have about "massage parlours" and alternative medicine, they don't seem to give of an air of professionalism . I think you have to set this up as a surgery making clear your service is for health benefit only ( loads of medical anatomy posters on the wall , white coats etc etc ) Also when advertising , try dropping flyer's into sports centres, football clubs , gyms etc, rather than posting through letter boxes, and make sure all your qualifications are highlited. Good luck from me , hope it goes gr8 for you (keep us informed ) xxx Others you should first let them know about your practice grand opening in some way. Make flyers and put them on door. If it's massage then offer some incentive. you know bring 2 people and 3rd will be free. that way people will get to know you and make sure they receiver good service that way they will be back. So flyers is one way for advertising. California has "specific" laws... against, "operating a business" from your home... related to: "business licensing, health licensing, business taxes, and parking problems"... (due to: "swinger" events and "prono" and adult "escort" services... having, "created problems"... with "home" business and "home" services)... so, be sure and investigate "the do's and don'ts"... before you start!!! as to "marketing" yourself... try "alternative" journals... generally distributed in health food stores and pharmacies... also, try a booth at the various "healthy living" conventions and community health fairs... and, offer free "demos", and "discount" flyers and coupons... or, go and distribute flyers at the local gyms and yoga studios!!! |
