Difficulties traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco? |
Travel Info On Dec 30th's night, or Dec 31st's morning, i will be driving up from Los Angeles to San Francisco with my friends. What are places we can visit and have fun for two days? Will there be extremely heavy traffic? My friends and I truely need good suggestion. Thanks Travel Tips Actually, I drove from San Francisco to LA via Yosemite National Park, even though it was June. I'm not familiar with the traffic condition around year-end periods, but the general road conditions are quite good (well-maintained highway), so I don't think you have problems there. Rather I presume you'll enjoy the fantastic driving between two big cities. You'll be moved to see the sophisticated SF city. Have fun! Others any place of your interest will dop and ;enough for your travel I had been in San Francisco last November 2005 in time for Thanksgiving and left it on December 29 since I have to stay in my cousin's place in Concord, which is part of the Contra Costa County. I had been to LA too. It has different beauties. You will love San Francisco. Ride the cable car on Powell Street! It goes directly to Fisherman's Wharf. It will give you the view of Alcatraz as seen in postcard. Have lunch over there! After lunch, walk over and you will see souvenirs around. There is a Wax Museum there. We rode the double decker tour of the city. There are other tours available. We had the Hop On-Hope Off tour of the city which starts from the Fisherman's Wharf, Hyde Street Pier, Telegraph Hilll, Ferry Building, Moscone Convention Center, City Hall-Civic Center, Nob Hill, Union Square, gate to Chinatown/Financial District, North Beach and Lombard Street. My friend treated me and it cost her $25.00. This lasts for 90 minutes. It is nice to ride on the upper portion of the double decker. It runs every 30-60 minutes depending on the number of clients from 10 am -4pm. The ticket is unlimited for 24 hours from the time you start. Children under 5, free. The Golden Gate tour is $20.00 from Fisherman's Wharf to the Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio, best views of the bay. You will have a breathtaking views of the Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, Marin Headlands, Baker Beach and San Francisco's skyline. All loops tour will be $50.00 There is the trip to Alcatraz which is $62, Monterey at $65, Yosemite National Park at $125, Muir Woods/Sausalito at $44, Muir Woods and the Wine County for $75 or the Wine County Napa and Sonoma at $65. These were the prices as of same time last year. You can ride a round trip of the BART to the Contra Costa County ( Concord, Pittsburgh, Antioch, Martinez, La Fayette etc. Residents of San Francisco prefers to shop at nearby Daly City because there are bigger parking unlike in San Francisco which is so expensive. The streets in San Francisco is up and down. Try driving over Geary street, it is like riding a mini roller coaster! Go to Embarcadero, you can watch people skating there. There is a mall over there! There is Hyatt Hotel nearby and a famous restaurant on top of another hotel. ( just forgot its name) You can go to San Francisco and just follow the map unlike San Diego and LA which are so widespread. You can ride the Muni bus and ride another Muni Bus within 2 hours for free. Just keep your tickets , there is the time frame over there. Oakland & Berkeley is just nearby. There is a nice restaurant at Berkeley overlooking the bay bridge. There is a pavement there where you can walk! San Jose is also within the bay area. |
