Besides SF & Monterey, what are other family vacation places to visit for a couple of days in the Bay Area? |
Travel Info We have been to the following: Half Moon Bay Hearst Castle Reno Lake Tahoe Las Vegas Travel Tips Try Berkeley. I wouldn't call it a vacation spot, but there is a variety of stuff to see there: Cal Campus, Fourth St.(great shopping area)Telegraph Ave(famous for 60's hippie culture), the Berkeley hills offer the best view of the entire bay area, Tilden Park(if your kids are young) offers a steam train ride, beautiful golf course, antique working carousel, nature area and little farm. You can catch an AMTRAK to Sacramento and see the railroad museum or take a ferry ride around the bay. I know this place so well, everyday is enjoyable. Others Santa Cruz Napa, Sonoma...............you completely forgot about Wine Country! Medocino or the wine country, Sonoma and Napa are beautiful places to visit for a day trip as well as Calistoga, where Old Faithful is. Sausalito and Tiburon Well, Hollywood is a GREAT place to visit. You should also visit downtown San Jose. It has an IMAX theatre and it has the Tech Museum. It has the HUGE library called Martin Luther King library(this is a HUGE HUGE library!). overall, its really fun to be there! but also try hollywood! |
