Travel Info I'm going from San Franscio To katy Texas,, I need to get best route without having to get up scary mountains. Travel Tips There is none my friend. The best and most convinient drive would be to take I-5 all the way to L.A. and then switch to I-10 all the way to Katy. Mountains are not that scary so you will encounter a few ups and downs especially going up the Grapevine, east of Palm Springs and before and after El Paso. I've done that drive a few times so it will be a long one. Non-stop it should take you at least 28-32 hours. Good luck and be careful. Others Fly. I can't think of any direct route from S.F. to TX. that doesn't involve mountains. However, the farther south you go in CA. before going East, the less challenging the mountains may seem, but caution still needed. |
