Where do i need to be so I can take a real good picture of Golden Bridge in SF?!? |
Travel Info I need to know the place... where should i go?! Travel Tips You will get an awesome distant shot at the Burger King in the Presidio. Go over the bridge, into the city and follow the signs toward the Presidio. The Burger King is up on the hill. To get a GREAT close-up, as you are approaching the city, just before you get to the bridge, take the last exit. Follow that up to the first pull off to the left. Park the car and get out and walk the path towards the bridge. It is quite a walk, but you end up on a hill really close to the first tower. AMAZING! Others First, you need to be in San Fransisco (LOL)..just kidding. Actually, before you drive onto the bridge, there is a spot you can stop at & take photos, so if you want just the bridge, or even people standing with the bridge in the background, it makes a great shot. Or, if you have a zoom lens, you can take pictures when you are on your way over to Alcatraz on the boat. Then you get the picture, centered & over the waterway. Enjoy!! Yeah, You need to be in San Fransciso. ;) In a helicopter. There is a place called Ft. Point. It is at the Base of the Bridge on the SF Side. From the Parking area you have quite a view but you can also go in the fort and get pictures from litterally right under it. The link to the site below gives you a good idea of the location. http://www.nps.gov/fopo/ Both sides of the bridge are national parks: Presidio National Park and the National Golden Gate Recreation Area (the latter is also known locally as the "Marin Headlands"). Since the land is owned by the federal government, it is mostly unspoiled by construction. The views are magnificent, and the best shots of the bridge are usually taken from inside these parks. |
