Alcatraz Tickets?

Should I get tickets for Alcatraz before I leave for my trip or once I'm there???

If you wait to get them when you get there, you'll end up buying them from third party sellers and pay way too much. Definitely buy them ahead of time, as someone previously mentioned (with a link).

Have fun! It's a great tour! (Oh, they also have a sunset/night tour that is GREAT. My husband and I did it on our honeymoon.)

These tickets sell out fast. The first time I was in San Francisco I waited to get my tickets and was disappointed because they were all gone.

On my next trip I bought them about a week in advance and had no problem.

I had no problems getting them when I went there.
During most times of the year you can get them while you are there. However, they may not be at the time you want to go. If you have specific time requirements I would get them as early ahead of time as you can.

If you have the chance book the Alcatraz at Night tour also. This is separate from the Day tour but gives a totally different perpective on Alcatraz. This is very interesting and you definatly have to book this ahead of time.
