San Fran family activities?

Travel Info
We are going to be in SF for 2 days--We have a 5-year old boy..outings, restaurants, museums--all suggestions are welcome...

Travel Tips
Puccini & Pinetti is definitely a kids friendly restaurant, and in Union Square. Mel's Drive-in (various locations) is good kids place too. Take him to Exploratorium, Sony Metreon--carousel & MLK Memorial (giant playground too), Steinhart Aquarium, Academy of Sciences at Golden Gate Park, Pier 30 with the Sea Lions, Alcarataz Tour, Fisherman's Wharf. Drive or walk down Lombard Street and go to North Beach.

Even SF MOMA may be cool for him to see. Zoo is okay, but depends on if he's been to a zoo.

Others
Ghiradelli Square is fun, especially the chocolate factory. I've never tasted better hot chocolate than there. Also, down on Fisherman's Wharf is the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, kids seem to get a kick out of that.

Golden Gate Park has many wonderful activities, make sure you plan several hours there!

Make sure you let him walk down Lombardi Street (the crookedest street in the world) and ride a cable car.

Enjoy, San Francisco is an absolutely beautiful city!

the sea lions at the pier seem endlessly entertaining to all ages.

i wouldn't "walk" a 5 yr old down Lombard ave or even take him there at all; personally, i think that is an adult activity that adults think is fun and interesting more than a 5 yr old child would. also walking down it is not safe, in my opinion.
See the Sea Lions
Take a cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a really neat ride that I'm sure your son will enjoy. When you get to Fisherman's Wharf, there is a sea lion conservatory - it's nice to just hang out on the pier and watch those amazing animals. That whole area is a great place to eat.

Also, near to where the cable car drops you off is Ghirardelli Square. There are shops and restaurants, including a Build a Bear Workshop. There are also lots of souvenir shops and arcades in the area, as well as an aquarium and Ripley's Believe It Or Not (which is a bit pricey but a fun way to kill time).
I would recommend the San Francisco Fire Truck tour. A tour of the city on an old fire truck, can't beat that. Also check out the Exploratorium, it's a hands-on museum, great for kids!

Enjoy SF, you'll love it!
