What kind of neighborhood is the 16th street and mission street area in San Francisco?

Travel Info
Is it a bad neighborhood or is it an okay place to be going for a concert?

Travel Tips
The Mission is San Francisco's Latin Quarter. Most of the residents are impoverished Hispanic immigrants, so there's some gang activity. However, the atmosphere is very lively.

And whatever seedy dealings are going on at night... it usually doesn't involve clueless, non-Spanish speaking outsiders. Just ignore the roving bands of young men "hanging around" and they'll likely ignore you too.

The Mision District in general tends towards the seedy. I would not recommend hanging out after midnight, but if you are there for a concert, presumably a crowd will be present, and you'll head elsewhere at the conclusion. 16th is like a major street anyhow.
DANGEROUS!! Especially this intersection. Be on very high alert, and be careful!!
not safe at all. If you go to the concert, don't leave anything visible in your car, i know someone who's dry cleaning was stolen out of his car in broad daylight somewhere around that area.

But i've gone to concerts in "rough" neighborhoods. Don't live in fear, go, have fun.
