What are some nice get a way spots that are within 4 hours of Fresno, California?

Travel Info
Well we are going away from the 2nd - 4th of Feb. and we want to go away but not too far. We dont want to stay in Fresno, either. Do you have any ideas for a nice place to get away and relax. Also it would be nice if its not too exspensive.

Travel Tips
The Mother Lode is about 2 hours away. Towns such as Columbia, Sonora, Angels Camp, Murphy's.

Plays on the weekend, antiques, winieries.

Sonora has many motels, hotels and B& B's.

A Variety of restuarants.

Enjoy.

Have you ever tried visiting Monterey! (less than 4 hours I think)
It is a beautiful place to visit with the Oceanside adjacent. It is a romantic place and does have many affordable hotels if you check around some on the Internet. The large ocean aquarium is outstanding and the Fisherman's Wharf is fun. Food is good.
Of course there are some of the best restaurants in the Monterey area.
Just 15 minutes away you can be in Carmel where shopping is 5 star. It also has the white beach which adjoins the Pebble beach property.
Everything about this place in Romantic if you are in that mood and during the days great views, odors , and sea mist.
I was also going to say Monteray Bay and Carmel. Lots of fun things to see and do in the area.
Fresno is a one of the best places to live because of it proximity. I call it the 3-hour-point. Everything is about 3 hours or less from Fresno.

You have so many choices to get away and relax. The Central Coast is only about 2 hours away. Stay in Cambria or San Simeon. Pismo and Avila Beaches are nice during teh summer, but don't have a lot to offer during the winter time.

North Coast such as Monterey or Santa Cruz is nice, too. A weekend getaway in Monterey will do your soul wonders.

If you want some good wine and great food, Napa is the place to go. My wife and I go wine-tasting a lot in Napa, and it's always a nice day trip. If we don't feel like rushing, we'll make it a weekend trip.

To the mountains: You got Yosemite and Sequoia nearby and less than a 2-hour drive.

Too many possibilities. We moved up from Orange County 4 years ago and have been enjoying taking little trips here and there.
