Anyone know of a fun place for kids to play in the snow that is close to San Jose CA? |
Travel Info Anyone know of a fun place for kids to play in the snow that is close to San Jose CA? Travel Tips Unless it snows in the Santa Cruz Mts. or up on Mt. Hamilton I can't think of any place close by. I lived in SJ for 20 yrs and I only remember it snowing in SJ a couple times. We usually waited until it snowed in the foothills and took our chances heading up there and stopping along the side of the road and played in the snow. There use to be a Santa's Village in the Santa Cruz Mts. but they closed it years ago. I did pull up a site for CA snow/ski map. hope that helps. Source(s): http://www.totalescape.com/active/snow/s... Other Travel Tips not really, as it usually never snows around there. People usually go to the Sierra Foothills.(up hiway 50)They've got snow as low as Pollock pines, and Kybers. Tahoe is just 20 minutes beyond that. You might be in for a bit of a drive. I'd say you should head up near pinecrest. About 3-3.5 hours from san Jose I think. I used to live in modesto. We used to go up to the Pinecrest lake area. In that general area, you can find dodge ridge ski resort, and not too far away is a place called Leland High Sierra Snow Play Area . They have a great hill for sledding, and they rent tubes and sleds. We used to have a blast there. http://www.snowplay.com yeah, it's called the Sierra Nevada Mountains |
