Travel Info Where in ca can I vacation with a two year old? Travel Tips Well, there's not much that can go 'wrong' or 'right' for a two year old, as long as their basic needs are met. Safety, comfort, and the reaction of others to your presence are the paramount concerns. Otherwise, you can pretty much take them wherever you want. As for specific attractions... In my humble opinion, a two-year old isn't really old enough to truly enjoy a place like Disneyland any way. And unless you enjoy the theme parks yourself (many adults do), you'd be wasting a lot of time and money for no reason. The characters and rides don't mean anything to kids until around pre-school or kindergarten age, when they're old enough to recognize the cartoons. Ditto for the more flashy animal parks like SeaWorld (San Diego) and Marine World (San Francisco suburbs). Very young children often react poorly to the loud music of the shows...and are frightened by the stunts. Regular zoos are probably your best bet. The best ones in California are in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Oakland. Others Disneyland or a Schlitterbahn Waterpark they are both fun for the whole family. If your on a budget any Zoo is great fun for the kids. Try aquariums. They are cool, and you can rest at different spots in them. Also, try childrens museaums. Go to a city with a good childrens museum and do activities there. If your kiddo is into dinosaurs, then focus on a dino kids museum. Have fun. Eat at lots of cool places too if in a big city like chicago try the rainforest cafe restaurants...very cool...even for big kids like me. exerience...especially the rainforest cafe and the dino museaum when they are little. Just remember to do things in spurts like they do...lil energy sometimes... A couple of ideas pop into mind: San Diego - they have SeaWorld, the zoo and beaches Disney Land or Disney World - Kids paradise Disney Cruises - they have a fun 3-day from Port Canaveral, FL to the Bahamas with lots of activities for little ones Where ever you go, just make sure that you take nap time into consideration, and plan for it. Nothing is worse than being in an unfamiliar place with a cranky toddler. Experience (and mistakes) You can try the Bay Area (San Fransisco, around there) and go to areas of interest near there.
