for a long weekend mid-February...what should I do or see? Any bands playing that I shouldn't miss?

Another note - since you're going to be a tourist here...DO NOT WEAR SHORTS...don't just assume that because it's "sunny CA" that it's warm...SF is usually in the 60's during the day...I think it's so funny when I see that haha.

Make sure and hit pier 39- there are always things to see and good food. The Hollywood store is fun to walk thru. They also have a Buba Gump Shrimp resturant at the end of the pier which is fun and lively
you should drive over the golden gate bridge, go to alcatraz and take the audio tour, DEFINITELY go eat some seafood at the fishermans warf, its SO good
