Travel Info Why isn't there a trash can on the Golden Gate Bridge? Travel Tips all good, logical answers. but the reason is there used to be but they were removed - just like in london - because they are a place for terrorists to put bombs. Others they like littering??? idk because people can just throw their rubbish in the water because it cost money from the city to put them there. It would only serve to 'waste' space, because you are not really going to cross the bridge on foot are you? If you are, there are no stores to buy and unwrap things anyway. We would not want to promote the stopping of cars to unload their garbage. I would assume there is no trash can on the Golden Gate bridge due to the fact that you're not supposed to stop moving on the bridge. You drive across to the other side then look for a trash can.
