How to get to S.F.? |
Travel Info i live in san jose and me and my friends want to go to san fransisco. to make it more fun we want to take public transportation like the train/trolly. we dont know how to get there but we really want to go. please help me! Travel Tips check out the trip planner at http://transit.511.org/tripplanner/index... Others Cal Train from Gilroy to SF (by the downtown ballpark) - click on the station link for the San Jose stops http://www.caltrain.com/ http://www.caltrain.com/ Or drive from SJ to Millbrae, jump onto BART in Millbrae-free parking, approx $8 rt for a ticket to and from millbrae to SF,,, and BART, can exit at Mission disrict, or downtown SF(powell st or montgomery st),, if you exit montgomery st , you can walk a few blocks to chinatown.... http://www.bart.gov/index.asp Caltrain is the way to go. From San Jose, it's $13.50 round-trip. The seats are comfortable and surprisingly clean. And there are bicycle carriages on each train. Once in San Francisco's 4th Street and King station, the N-Line light rail that will take you to Union Square (Powell Street station), Golden Gate Park (9th Street and Irving stop), or Ocean Beach (last stop). Otherwise, it's about a 30-40 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf along the Embarcadero. The T-Line is the "ghetto train" to Bayview/Hunter's Point, and is of little interest to visitors. you can take CalTrain from downtown San Jose to San Francisco. the end of the train in SF is south of market. from there you can take Muni Metro tram to downtown SF. |
