Travel Info Are there any trains or amtraks that go from San Jose to San Fransisco? Others Cal train provides service between San Jose and San Francisco. www.caltrain.com CALTRAIN, a commuter train, runs from downtown San Jose to San Francisco, including weekends. I live in the Bay Area http://www.caltrain.com/schedule.html... The Peninsula commuter train. Amtrak does go to San Jose. From there, you can take Amtrak south to Los Angeles, or north to Oakland, Sacramento, and Seattle. You can transfer in Oakland or Emeryville to go to Bakersfield or Chicago. Amtrak does not have any trains to San Francisco. however, you can take CalTrain from SJ to SF. Also, Amtrak runs a bus from the Amtrak station in Oakland to SF. There is also BART which connects most of the Bay Area to SF |
