Travel Info Any suggestions on where i should go and what I should do while i'm there? Travel Tips Catch a baseball game at Pac Bell, Fishermans Wharf San Francisco Zoo China Town Walk down town Market St. Take a cable car ride around the city. Go visit Alcatraz Island Others I just went last fall. What a fabulous city! Check out Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, The Aquarium of the Bay, the SF Zoo. Haight-Ashbury is really cool. Oh! And take a ride out to San Jose and tour the Winchester Mystery House. What a crazy freakin' place that is. Have a great time! Napa Valley is a great place to go wine tasting. It is north of San Francisco....about an hour's drive. You could rent a car or take a tour bus from San Francisco. West of the city about an hour is another (lesser known) wine region called Livermore Wine Country. There are more than 25 wineries in this area and it's much less crowded than Napa. Both are worth a visit. In San Francisco...take the ferry over to Sausilito. It's fun being on the water. You could also bike across the Golden Gate Bridge or on Angel Island. There's great museums. If you want to visit Alcatraz, get reservations well in advance. They are usually sold out in advance. There's lots of theater and other things to do. Beach Blanket Babylon is a long playing favorite. http://www.cheers2wine.com Definately check out union square, Alkatraz, AND the metreon, u should probably stay at a small suburb of the city, cheaper hotel rooms and also closer to tahoe and the napa valley. There is so much to do in S.F. especially in the summertime. I would go to Chinatown, take a cable car ride. If you're coming from across the bay, take BART or the ferry. You must see Union Square, the Castro, Fishermans Wharf, the Embarcadero, Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gte Park and the Presidio. Find an East Bay Express (free paper) as soon as you arrive, it's loaded with city info. (movies, music, restaurants, everything). Have fun!! live close |
