Is there an equivalent of LA Weekly for Berkeley/San Francisco area? |
Travel Info Like a paper thing where it says everything that's going on that week-- clubs, music, theatre, shows, movies, museums, night stuff. Travel Tips There's an SF Weekly that's owned by the same people who publish the Los Angeles version. http://www.sfweekly.com/ However, the locals seem to prefer the Bay Guardian, which has more of a "Northern California" writing style (that is...less on fashion and celebrities, more on politicians and lawsuits). http://www.sfbg.com/ Both have comprehensive entertainment listings. However, the Bay Guardian publishes a reader's survey once a year called the "Best of the Bay" edition...which is the holy grail on what's currently popular: http://www.sfbg.com/2006bob/ Others SF Weekly (published by the same people) or the Bay Guardian. In addition to the SFWeekly and the Bay Guardian there is also the East Bay Express http://www.sfweekly.com http://www.sfbg.com http://www.eastbayexpress.com/ SF has the Bay Guardian and SF Weekly and in the East Bay/Berkeley they have the East Bay Express |
