Travel Info and also like in san mateo or san francisco is there gonna be a 8.0 earthquak like in 2009 coz i herd that it happens every twenty years! i am reayy scared r u? well yea when is it gonna end! Travel Tips nope, we are all gonna go to the happy hunting ground someday . everyone is going to face the grim reaper.everyone...so get your house in order as there is nothing you can do anyway. Other Travel Tips global warming is not gonna stop until we want it to and do something about it. the earthquake cant help u there. but i have heard of "the big one" that supposed to send most of Cali into the pacific Global warming took about a century to create, so no, it will not end in 3 years. Even if we took the steps necessary to reduce our carbon emissions, it will take more than 3 years to reduce global warming effects. As for the earthquake scenario, there is no way to know. Earthquakes cannot be forecast like the weather, so all I can tell you is to hide under your school desk when you feel rumbling. I live in Oklahoma, so I don't worry about quakes. But in a couple of months, it'll be that grand time of year to listen to the scanner nonstop for tornado sightings every time it rains. Yay. Global warming is more a Natural Event than that caused by man as many are busy portraying. Remember, the Earth was formed under the ice. As the ice fields melted, the geologic formations were exposed, and thus the mountains... Then came the next Ice Age. The middle ground is called Global Warming. NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) predicts that some 500 to 600 years from now we will again enter another Ice Age. This question has no real answer. We should obviously take good care of our Earth, it is the only one we have; but I wouldn't sweat the oceanic risings and flooding being predicted. Earthquakes? I live in Alaska; we get 10 to 12 good shakes all the time. And the largest earthquake every recorded on the North American Continent was in Alaska in 1964... 9.2 on the Richter Scale.
