I need a hall for my wedding, any cities around south gate, ca?

Isn't South Gate in the Los Angeles area, near Lynwood or North of Long Beach? I lived in the area after getting out of college. Many small towns, not every street had sidewalks (40 yrs ago) in that part of the LA basin. There must be churches in the area with large halls.

Slower pace than the Bay Area.
