Travel Info Where do I find the best bargains International Airfares from the San Francisco area? Travel Tips I just purchased tickets yesterday from SFO to Ireland. Travelocity was the cheapest for the days I chose,but I have also used Expedia in the past. I started by searching the travel websites first and then also trying the airlines' direct websites to compare prices. I know a lot of people say that the airlines offer the lowest fares if you book with them directly. I found this isn't always true. Travel websites do charge a booking fee,but in my case, with the booking fee and FEDEX delivery charge for tickets, my flight (for 2 people roundtrip) came to $1297.24. The same flights on Delta (minus a booking charge) would have been $1396.40. Even with the booking fee, I still saved $99.16. Others Online, generally Travelocity.com will come out well then there's always hotwire and others.. I've gotten some GREAT deals from www.travelzoo.com expedia. They are the only travel site that I use now. The prices are pretty comparable to everyone else. But if you ever have a problem they have 24hr customer service. Even more important if you will be out of the country. I know from experience that they can help if there is a problem. I saw airline bargains here at www.travelation.com |
