Going to San Francisco by myself, what is there to do? |
Travel Info I am going to SF for work tomorrow and staying until Sunday night. Can someone recommend me all the touristy things to do as well as some stuff off the beaten path? Also, what can I expect weather wise? I love to eat so please recommend me some nice places to eat and I'll charge it to the company =). Travel Tips Take a walk through Chinatown and northbeach at dusk, have diner at Henry's Hunan on Broadway and Battery, don't miss the Diana's Meat pie. Take the bus to the top of coit tower check out the WPA murals inside and then walk down the steps and along the Embarcadero to the Ferry Building. Check out the food and music in the Fillmore district. Japantown merges with the old Jazz district here. The best of both worlds. Weather forecast for the rest of the week is cool and wet. Bring a light jacket and a small umbrella you may need it. Others Go get high walk across Golden Gate at Sunset - find one of the many rice-a-roni stands and have a bowl. - ride a streetcar - have clam chowder and sourdough bread at the Fishermen's Market - go to the famous hippie area (Haight/Ashbury) - take lots of pictures - don't take me too seriously Go to the Market Place and eat at the Slanted Door its really good! Also check out Stow Lake/Botanical Gardens/Japanese Tea Garden/De Young Museum. They are all located in the same area. Go shopping at the Westfield mall, there are tons of stores there. Theres also a good place called Zuni Cafe that is very affordable and cute. Also, be sure to check out Ghirardelis square and eat some ice cream!! Its a short walk from the embarcadero. If you go to the embarcadero around 6ish on a crowded day, there are tons of entertainers which is kind of cool. Look out for the bush man!! Have fun! |
