The only time it's warm there is during a heatwave in Sept or Oct when it's about 100 degrees inland. The warmest temperature ever recorded at Ocean Beach was like 86 degrees. And it's probably the most dirty of the beaches because of the drinking parties and bonfires. China Beach is small and suitable for young families. Aquatic Beach is the closest one to Fisherman's Wharf. It's also small and faces the bay rather than the ocean (so it's very calm). In Marin County, Rodeo Beach is a place to start/end a hike into the Headlands. Muir Beach and Stinson Beach are beautiful white sand stretches. Those beaches are great for seashell hunters and scuba divers. To the South, Pacifica's beach is windy and cold all year long. Half Moon Bay is nice.
