Is Oakland really as dangerous as they say? |
Travel Info also, is the traffic really that bad? Travel Tips The traffic is not that bad but it is very dangerous in some areas. There are areas of Oakland that are very nice but there are many many gangs and murders all the time in those certain bad areas. Source(s): Lived in the bay area my whole life, work sometimes in Oakland at one of the locations of the business I work for. Other Travel Tips I am wondering that also, is it true that blue jeans are gang colors down there? I don`t think so, I Live in Oakland and it is great. It depends on where in Oakland you go. If you are in East or West Oakland (the sports arenas are in East Oakland), then it can be really dangerous. However, if you are in Rockridge, Peidmont, or Jack London Square, it is safe. I use to live there as a kid,, I would not now or ever,, yes much more dangerous,than long ago.. Yes traffic thru hwy 880 and 580 at times very busy during commute hrs... Lots of side shows, robberies near Bart(2blocks away)? Yes real estate is a little reasonable there in east oakland,but lots of crime.. yes, its very dangerous and the traffic/parking are really bad |
