Is there anything going on in the Bay Area for Mardi Gras? |
Travel Info Is there anything in SF or somewhere else in the Bay where they are doing something for Mardi Gras like a parade or something? Travel Tips Here's a link to today's local Mardi Gras celebrations in San Francisco's Mission District (which is still going strong, it would seem): http://www.carnavalsf.com/ San Jose used to have a Mardi Gras too. Unfortunately, rival Hispanic gangs have incited violence against each other (and some innocent bystanders) the last couple years, prompting City Hall to withdraw it's sponsorship. This year, if it's going to happen at all, it seems to be way more low-key. I can't even find a website for it, but the crowds usually gather along Post Street near SJSU. Others Go to Google & type in Bay Area Events...they list everything going on...Also, San Jose has a big Mardi Gras event going on tonight 2/20/07 somewhere in downtown.... |
