Where is the best place in the San Francisco bay area to hike in spring? |
Travel Info I'd like to find a hike with green hills and lots of wildflowers. Travel Tips Golden Gate park is nice, but it's not really hiking. I'd say if you're looking for green hills and lots of wildflowers, you're looking for Marin, just north of the Golden Gate bridge. Rolling hills, plus a great view of the city and the bay if you get lucky with the weather. Be sure to climb Mt. Tamalpias if you have time! Other great places in Marin county are Muir Woods and Point Reyes, closer to the coast. Source(s): born and raised in the Bay Area Other Travel Tips Muir woods is a beautiful place to hike. Golden Gate park also has a lot of really nice areas. Enjoyed both when I lived in San Francisco. About 45 minutes south of San Francisco, the Saratoga and Santa Cruz hills are famous for it's beautiful hiking trails.
