Any nice 3-4 day vacation "near" San Francisco (not "at")? |
Travel Info Are there any good locations one can go as a couple - (Tahoe is one option for skiiers if snow stands till end-March which is when I can make it for a short vacation, for instance). Places within a 5 hour drive from SF are most preferable. I have seen almost all the coast of California south of Monterey. Thanks to all Answerers. Travel Tips Monterey and Carmel are great, but if you're looking for something new, try the Napa/Sonoma wine country. In addition to some great wineries, there are plenty of great restaurants, spas, etc. It's only about an hour and a half north (easy drive up 101). Sonoma is less crowded than Napa, but in March and April, that shouldn't be much a problem anyway. By then, the rainy season is over and the weather should be great.
