Is it safe to travel by Greyhound Bus at night from Los Angeles to San Francisco?

Travel Tips
It is safe! The stations however are usually smelly and occasionally will have half asleep bums taking over seats but other than that, the busses are relatively safe. Being the only traveler, you should keep a purse or a bag with all of your important things and keep it close with you at all times. Try to sit closer to the front and is will be a much better ride (since most busses have the porta-potty in back). There are different lengths for the buses at night; I think there is one that is only 6 hours versus another for about 8 hours because they take different routes. Usually the ones past 10PM are the shorter ones and will only make 1-2 stops. You can check the schedules online before purchasing tickets. www.greyhound.com Source(s): own experience

Yes. Just be careful at the bus stations. Every one of those places are GHETTO no matter where you go!
Hi i would say its as safe as anywhere else you will travel. The thing you should be aware of it to keep all money and anything of value close to you.traveling at night you might fall asleep and that will make the long ride faster.Im a woman and i traveled to idaho from san francisco it took a day& 1/2
had a wonderful ride met a few nice people but i was always aware of my surroundings. And you should be too. Have a great time God Bless
