Would it be foolish for a 20 year old female to live alone in Oakland? |
Travel Info What would be the best area to live in Oakland? Thanks. Travel Tips Depends on where you live. You would be fine in Rockridge, Piedmont Blvd., the hills or Montclair and probably okay around Lakeshore, Chinatown, JLS and Fruitvale too. Outside of those areas I'd be careful. Lots of "Bay Area Residents" only know Oakland from the evening news, and have no idea about which areas are or aren't dangerous. I would stay away from Oakland! former SF Bay Area resident The whole city is very dangerous. Please live on the far outskirts if you have to be there. slightly foolish to live in oakland...i would go for another area in the bay ... actually any other area in the bay would be better...commuting is fairly easy and mostly painless ( you get used to the traffic) so if you are moving for a job I would still consider away from oakland |
