What should I bring when I go to California?

Travel Tips
It depends... where are you from? Are you going to be staying with friends?
If you are, take something special from your home country as a gift...
If you are just going on vacation, you'd better take some clean underwear with you, never know who you are going to meet ;-)

your phone, clothes, and all that other stuff...unless your moving...then i would bring everything!!!
Several changes of clothes. A toothbrush. Mostly what you'd pack going anywhere else. California is pretty big and the climate is different in various areas. Depends on where you're going.
sumglasses, ready cash for tips, a good map and guide book and light clothes it practically always sunny and warm
enjoy:)
bring only money and credit cards going away is a great excuse for why you need to buy everything new.
lol yes I love to shop
If you want to really blend in with us, bring sun glasses, a visor, skateboard, jean shorts and a surfer neckelace with shark teeth.

Kidding.

California's weather ranges from sizzling hot for a day in the beach, to frozen over for snow fun! It depends when and where you are going. For starters, I would bring a pretty wide range of clothes from shorts to sweaters because the weather can change. Bring sunblock if you will be in the sunny areas, and what better place than sunny California to spend at the beach so if that's your plan, take a swim suit! Cali has so much to see, so you'll want a camera to capture the moments. A backpack with snacks, water, etc. is a wise choice considering you will most likely be walking a lot.

Bring an open mind, too. California is, after all, where the weird people go. The San Francisco area especially has a very wide range of different, strange but very interesting people, so be prepared to walk into extreme lifestylers, punks and goths, fetishists, street performers and the like. ( I personally think that the wide variety of people are what make Cali so great).

Bring a map of course, and come prepared with a list of places you want to see and where they are located, so that you don't get lost wondering what to do and end up wasting time. Try to grab tours when you can.

You will need plenty of money, considering going on a budget to California isn't that easy. You want the best experience, and that may cost you some.

Over all, just bring the basics like you would on any trip, and over all, enjoy.

Have fun!
