Travel Tips
I had been to San Francisco for Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2005. I had stayed there for a month.

First plan your trip! Browse through the internet. I suggest yahoo travel! Go to guides and go to San Francisco! In the bottom of the page are the top 10 attractions as suggested with their websites and locations. You can also see a slideshow of San Francisco!

I had studied not only something about San Francisco but have also a map to see and explore it! San Francisco is the only place in California that I had been that you can really follow verbatim through the map. Unlike San Diego which is so widespread. LA is also the same. I had also been to Camarillo and El Centro. Make the most out of your trip.

The very important landmark there is the Powell Street where you can take the cable car and the BART! There is also a visitor's area over there.

In riding the cable car, be prepared with your camera or handycam, it will take a pause over the postcard view of Alcatraz and end at Fisherman's Wharf. Before having lunch, be sure to register for a double decker tour of your choice ( city tour, Golden Gate, Monterey, Wine Counties ( Sonoma and Napa Valley), Sausalito and alot more! After lunch, you will just be in time for the tour. If you have more time before the trip, you can explore the area for souvenirs.

Remember that San Francisco has the highest tax not only in California but throughout the USA. It was 8.5% in 2005, I am not sure if it went up to 8.75% this time.

If you choose the double decker tour of the city, you will pass by the entrance to Chinatown. You can probably remember that place or go down there if it is last in your itinerary. Ask the tourist guide. This is the most famous Chinatown in the USA. You can see a lot of souvenirs here! The streets are really hilly! You can probably buy a miniature cable car! Try the up and down streets over at Geary its fun. Be careful when parking if you have your car! The streets of San Francisco are up and down. It is HILLY!

On your 2nd day, you can explore the Contra Costa County by riding the BART which is the Bay Area Rapid Transit. Take a round trip! The areas in the Contra Costa County are Oakland, Concord, Martinez, Antioch, Walnut Creek, Berkeley and alot more. You should take into consideration that some of the BART stations are far from shopping malls. You can take a taxi from there and explore each place!

Residents of San Francisco and nearby areas who work in San Francisco dont bring their cars for work because parking is always hard and expensive! They usually shop at Daly City because parking their is not a problem especially when shopping.

If you are still in your place, you can already monitor the temperatures in your place and San Francisco at your desktop. You can use my yahoo. I monitor at least 20 cities at the same time. Bring coats, its cold out in San Francisco. Unless you come from the East Coast or other cooler areas.

If you want the best Chinese food, there are alot of restaurants over at San Bruno. You can take a Muni Bus from the city proper to San Bruno! Remember that when you ride the Muni Bus, take note of the time it was stamped and keep it. You can transfer to other Muni Buses within 2 hours for free.

There are alot of good places to explore like museums, gardens and most especially dont forget to take a pause over the Golden Gate Bridge and have your picture taken. That is one thing I wasnt able to do because the family I had lived there are staying in San Francisco for almost 20 years and they may find it corny. Funny but they havent take a ride of the cable car also.
