If I can't afford Walnut Creek, where should I live?

Travel Info
I know Pleasant Hill and Concord are close...which is nicer and closer? Also need to be near BART. Pros and cons please. Thanks!

How 'bout Concrud, I mean Concord?

Pittsburg isn't that expensive and there are a couple of nice neigborhoods. It's only about 15 minutes from walnut creek.
martinez are both closer pittsburgh. there is an amtrak station in martinez and bart goes all the way to pittsburg. vacaville is ok too if you want to take the amtrak to richmond and hop on the bart there.
I had stayed in Concord x 1month last year and had the opportunity to see the studio type of rooms over the place since my friend was looking for one.
They usually cost $1,000+++. We explored Walnut Creek, Pittsburgh and a part of Concord.
What about Daly City, I heard there are $800 studio type rooms over there. Try seeing the newspapers, it might help or even the magazines you will at Walmart. It is about apartment rentals. See and explore Antioch also or every place which the BART pass by . Dont ever go to Oakland. Crime rate is high over that area.
San Bruno and Daly City are good places to look. So is Colma. Also I am not sure what your budget is but certain areas of the city, like the Excelsior/Outer Mission has lots of houses for rent. For renting a 3 bdrm house, $1800sounds reasonable.
If you are really wanting to stay in the East Bay then I would pick Pleasant Hill over Concord. I used to live in Clayton (which is also a nice area) and whenever I used to actually go into Concord certain areas always seemed shady. Good luck.
concord, walnut creek, pleasant hill are all about the same as each other. Being from Walnut Creek, I prefer Pleasant Hill to Concord. All three can be pretty pricey. You might try Martinez, you'd have to drive to concord or walnut creek to get on bart though.

pretty much anything down the 680 corridor from San Jose to Martinez is going to be expensive. Or you might try going out towards Antioch and Brentwood...but that is a long way from the city. I don't like Pittsuburg because the crime rates are higher.

There are also some new apartments, etc. going up in Emeryville area, but I have not clue what their rents are like.
