Taking a trip along the the California Coast Ventura to San Fransisco? |
Travel Info I have a 3 year old and a six year old. What are some great places for the kids and the parents. Love nature and quaint little towns. Travel Tips If you have time for a side trip, take a ride inland from the coast to Gilroy and visit Bonfante Gardens. Also a bit off of your beaten path is The Oakland Zoo. It's pretty great and it has a fabulous Children's Zoo, as well. Oh, ans don't forget the Monterey Bay Aquarium!!! They are only a couple of miles apart, right off the 101 about 100 miles north of Santa Barbara. Small little beach towns with some nice shops and restaurants. Check out www.classiccalifornia.com Don't do it! Hwy 1 has so many curves it will take forever and the kids WILL get sick! Stay inland and go to Solvang and then shoot up Hwy 5 as fast as you can!!! Also if you are nature lovers you need to stop at the guadalupe dunes - there is a boardwalk (quite a hike) but my 3 year old can do it and loves it.
