Apartment complex in Burlingame, CA or San Mateo, CA?

Does anyone know a good place to rent in Burlingame or San Mateo? I'm looking for an apartment complex. I've already looked at Craig's list. Any personal experiences.

Downtown San Mateo is unsafe for renting a place, specially the area around 3rd avenue between El Camino Real and 101. Burlingame has better ones on El Camino Real.
