Restaurant suggestions for Pier 39 in SF, CA? |
Travel Info I'm planning a trip to the SF Aquarium this week and would appreciate any suggestions on kid friendly, fun, low cost places to eat in or near the area? Thanks! Travel Tips It's not low-cost, but when it comes to kid-friendly, consider Rainforest Cafe. It's across the street from Pier 39, and as long as the kids aren't afraid of intermittent "thunder" showers, it's a lot of fun! If cost is a major factor... there's an In N Out Burger too... hmm... whenever we go to the pier, we eat at the fish and chips place, 'cause the fried mushrooms are great, and it's usually not crowded. I wish I knew what the name of it is... it's making me hungry! It's along the left side, right near the Pier Market Crabstand. Source(s): http://www.pier39.com/dining/index.htm... Other Travel Tips Pier 39 is a tourist trap and so is Fisherman's Wharf. There are some truly magnificient places to dine in the North Beach area which is within easy walking distance from Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf. It's the Italian section of town and pretty much any place you walk into will have great food and atmosphere. (P. S. - The Aquarium is at Golden Gate Park which is clear the other side of the City from Pier 39). Don't, but if you must Bubba Gumps will pass. go to north beach pizza. it's on the upper floor of pier 39 next to bubba gump. whatever you do don't order calamari at bubba gump, which is what we did for appetizers. it's gross. north beach pizza is the best pizza you'll ever eat! I forget the name but just inside there's a place with the best bread bowls and clam chowder I've ever had in my life! It's the boudin bakery, great for a small lunch! |
