Is there a lot of outgoing traffic in SF during morning commute hour? IM commuting from SF to Union City?

Travel Info
How much time should I allow in the mornings to travel from SF to Union City? Will there be alot of traffic or is it mostly reverse commute for me?? (I would prefer if a local of SF could answer) Thank you.

Travel Tips
BART goes to Union City. If you can I would take BART. That is a long commute to drive. 880 gets very heavy and 101 is unpredictable.

You are stuck with a bridge no matter what.

Hi,
Depending on your time line. From S.F. south close to 8 am you will slow around the Airport. Next slow spot will be Redwood City. Once you make it to the Marsh Road exit and onto Bayfront Parkway it's a breeze to get to Union City across the Dumbarton Bridge. If you leave S.F. before 7 am you'll have a good commute to Union City.
Getting out of the city won't be too bad. However, you will hit the 880 traffic (and of course, there's the Grand Avenue detour). Allow at least an hour. (I'm assuming you're taking the Bay Bridge. There are alternate routes I'm not familiar with.)
