In San Fransisco, California how much would it cost to rent a taxi from Fisherman's Wharf to Ashbury St.? |
Travel Info My band will be traveling to Ashbury in late May and we are trying to get an idea of how much it will cost for a round trip in a taxi. You can't fit a standup bass in the cab; you could request a van, but you'd have to reserve it ahead of time. Add: Actually, San Jose's cab rates are higher than SF. It's about 4 miles distance, so you can figure it out. $2.85 to start. plus .50 per 1/5=$2.50 per mile. $2.50 x 4 miles=$10 + 2.85=12.85 total, so total = $15 with tip. you could charter a van service (like Super shuttle) might be cheaper Hi, I can save you a lot of cash to get from the Wharf to the Height. At the Wharf catch the "F" line street car. Make sure you get a transfer. Stop at Powell street. Go under ground to the Muni street cars. Use your transfer at the turn-style and they will buzz you through. Once on the lower street car platform take the "N" Judha outbound toward Ocean Beach. People will be very helpful. Exit once you go through the tunnel at Cole and Carl stop. There is a great place to eat right across the street at Crapes on Cole. You a a few short blocks from the Height. Just walk down hill and you will dead-end right on height. Make a right turn and your a block or so from Ashbury. Oh by the way this will cost you $1.25 and it's the fastest way. Actually with the equipment I would try using MUNI buses. more room, less cost. 8-10 bucks max! always act like a local, never a tourist to be safe. and give them an actual address, and cross street. that really helps them. and... look for veteran's taxi... one of my favorites when i lived there. |
